6-Week Advanced Acting Camp
Prerequisite: 4 Week Acting for Film Workshop or 12 Weekend Acting for Film Workshop.NEW YORK CITY AND HOLLYWOOD LOCATIONS ONLY
The core of classes in this advanced Camp Program include: Advanced Acting for Film, Acting for Television (single camera, multi-camera, commercial and soap opera), Advanced Scene Study and Technique and Advanced Audition Technique and Cold Reading.
In addition to the classes above, you will also have several special lectures in the following areas: Advanced Voice and Movement (dialects and stage combat), Shakespeare, Film Craft, Make-up (special effects, make-up for TV vs. Film, black and white vs. color), Head Shot Session and special guest lectures from industry professionals.
The Advanced Acting students will be paired with the Advanced Filmmaking students in two, day-long Production Workshops during the six weeks. Short scenes using sync-sound, 16 mm color film will be shot during these classes that take place on the backlot at Universal Studios.
Additionally, we will match you with our 6-week Filmmakers to act in their final films. This will have you acting on the backlot at Universal Studios for four days in a row in addition to your Production Workshops.
Naturally, there will be a final screening for cast, crew, family, and invited guests. Students will present live, staged scenes from their Scene Study and Technique class in a showcase. Additionally, we will screen Production Camp Programs, final class exercises and the films you acted in produced by the 6-week Filmmakers.
Upon the successful completion of the course, students will receive a New York Film Academy diploma and a DVD reel with all of the classwork, featured films acted in and headshots from the course.
