CHARTER OAK STATE COLLEGE: NEW BRITAIN, CONNECTICUT
EARN A BACHELORS DEGREE THROUGH DISTANCE LEARNING!

We are pleased to announce that New York Film Academy students are now able to apply their NYFA credits toward a Bachelor’s Degree at Charter Oak State College.

ABOUT CHARTER OAK
Charter Oak was established in 1973 by the Connecticut State Legislature to provide an alternative way for adults to earn undergraduate degrees. Because Charter Oak has no academic residency requirement, students are able to transfer-in college credits earned – no matter how long ago – at other accredited institutions. Once a learning-path is established, students can complete their degree by taking Charter Oak’s convenient online courses, taking CLEP or DANTES exams, or by completing a portfolio review process.

Charter Oak is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Connecticut Board of Governors for Higher Education. As a public institution, Charter Oak is one of higher education’s most affordable distance learning options.

CHARTER OAK'S DEGREE PROGRAMS & ONLINE COURSES
Charter Oak offers undergraduate degrees in over 30 different concentrations including Applied Arts, Art History, Communication and History. Students may also customize their own concentration under our Individualized Studies program.

Charter Oak’s extensive online course catalog includes frequent starts of 5-week, 8-week and 15-week courses developed and taught by distinguished faculty. The faculty base is composed of a broad spectrum of academics and practitioners from colleges and universities throughout the United States. A rigorous academic review model ensures that all online courses meet the highest academic standards.

INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS
As a distance learning college, Charter Oak has students and graduates in all 50 states and 10 different countries. NYFA’s international students can take our online courses and earn their degree from anywhere in the world. International students can transfer-in past credits that have been reviewed by WES or another approved organization. We do not require TOEFL scores for admission; however, students will have to demonstrate a proficiency in English before they begin their online coursework.

APPLY TO CHARTER OAK
Charter Oak State College prides itself on its personalized admissions process. After you apply to Charter Oak, one of our Admissions Counselors will personally contact you to discuss your previous coursework and to guide you through the enrollment process.
