All students enrolling in the Intensive One-Week Lip Sync 101 Workshop should be aware that this is an introductory course. The limitation of a one-week course should be apparent, given that many people spend years studying and perfecting their craft.
PREPARATION
A basic understanding of how to use computers is recommended. No previous Maya experience is necessary, but is beneficial.
Students come out with a ten second animation clip for their demo reel.
FORMAT
Students will learn the theory and practice of lip sync in Maya using pre rigged heads and found sound clips. You will discover the difference between a smirk and a smile, an ooh and a "U", you will learn how to pop the P's and M's and widen the EEEs in this focus on lip sync.

• Close up facial animation
• Importing and offsetting sound clips in Maya
• Timing out sounds
• Visimes and phonemes, the shapes that define the sounds we make
• The emotional impact of delivering the same line with different facial shape • Camera driven performance
• Asymmetrical face shapes
