Tatiana Del Toro Continues to Shine
February 16th, 2009 Posted in Acting School, Student & Alumni Activity
New York Film Academy Acting School alumna and current American Idol finalist Tatiana Del Toro continues her whirl-wind campaign towards becoming the next American Idol this Tuesday night, when voting will begin. Del Toro has been popular with television audiences so far in season eight of Idol, as the producers teeter on portraying her as an over-the-top dramatic or a strong-willed, by any means necessary contestant. Despite how she may be received, her fan base and Puerto Rico remain very supportive of their rising star.
In a recently posted video via americanidol.com Del Toro explains with fellow contestant Brent Keith, her hardships and why surviving the Idol auditions was nothing compared to some of the things that she’s been through in life. Stay tuned to the blog and we will have exclusive footage and maybe even an interview (if the producers of the show will let us).
Del Toro joins a growing list of NYFA alumni who are making a name for themselves via reality tv and competitions, check back for more information on more alumni and we’ll do our best to keep up with everyone!

I have watched AI for years. 2009 appears to have the worst singers, but one….Tatiana. You are by far the best singer of tonight, 2/17. Don’t listen to the judges right now because America votes. Last year David Archuleta was my favorite and he should won. So, I pick you as the top 5 right now. I hope I am right!!!! I’m sure once you playback the show, you already know you were the best tonight! Good luck! Tammy K., from Michigan

I’m disappointed that Tatiana Del Toro did not make it into the final 12. I think that she is a star in the raw. In fact, she’s the closest thing to Madonna I’ve seen since, well, Madonna–back in the day. Del Toro is certainly a better singer than Ms M; way better. She’s also undeniably charismatic. And the camera loves her. Most importantly, she is unforgettable, for all the right AND wrong reasons. That’s what makes a pop star. Del Toro is the only reason I’ve watched consecutive–not to mention entire–episodes of American Idol for the first time. I hope that she gets a chance to return for the Wild Card segment.

the girl can sing but she’s also obviously mentally unstable and the most annoying person i’ve seen in a long time.

Tatiana may be able to sing.. but she seriously needs to contain her emotions. watching her carry on and on is EXTREMELY annoying. The only reason she may move on with the wild card is because she is such a character… and extreme characters make good television.

OMG Tatiana is a strange, weird, fake person! I feel she can sing yes, but her annoying personality out weights her voice. I am so thankful she is no longer on American Idol, now I won’t have to keep hitting the mute button.
