New York Film Academy 1-Year Filmmaking Conservatory student Naman Goyal’s first semester film about a man from India moving to the states has made it’s way through multiple festivals and received honors at the Japan International Film Festival. The film, Affair with New York, focuses on a recent New York City transplant who is very unsatisfied with the move. However, after time spent immersed in the city, he falls for the culture and coincidentally, an American girl.
The New York Film Academy student hasn’t had time to slow down and enjoy his success. Goyal is already immersed in preproduction of his final NYFA film. This time, Goyal spins the story of a vain American actor who is self-reliant on his good looks but soon begins to lose his hair. The actor, unable to rely on his physical appearance to get jobs, must experience a comical transformation and ultimately becomes a more centered and kind person in the process.
Once Goyal completes his NYFA conservatory program, he next plans to extend Affair with New York into a full-length rom-com.
