NYFA Summer Film & Acting Camps Are No Kids Play

picture-11During the summer of 2009 hundreds of kids and teenagers from every corner of the world will study film and acting at the New York Film Academy Summer Camps in New York City, Los Angeles, Orlando and Italy. Designed to teach the basic elements and techniques with a hands-on approach, these one of a kind camps have been teaching young filmmakers and actors for the last decade.

But make no mistake about it, the NYFA Summer Camps are no kids play.  Kids come here to learn and master their craft.

NYFA offers one of a kind, hands-on film and acting camps designed to teach youth the fundamentals of movie making and acting in film. Many of Hollywood’s most notable actors and directors have sent their sons and daughters to NYFA camps. Steven Spielberg, Susan Sarandon, Tim Robbins, Kevin Kline, Pierce Brosnan, director George Romero, Melanie Griffith, Academy Award winning actor F. Murray Abraham, are just to name a few.

NYFA filmmaking camps, each student writes, produces, directs, and edits his or her own films. Film camps are designed for people with little or no experience in making films.  The programs focus on the fundamental elements of visual storytelling that enable the participants to direct their own projects. In addition, each students assist other members of the crew in the roles of director of photography and assistant camera person, providing all with extensive set experience. The acting, journalism and animation camps are just as intensive and thorough.
