By Jason Brubaker - When I was first starting out in the movie industry, I worked alongside an independent producer in New York. During that time, I learned some valuable movie making success secrets that have allowed me accelerate my own movie making career.

I found out that truly independent filmmakers find a way to make their movie without asking permission. They put blinders on and go for it. They align themselves with a collaborative team of professionals who share complementary goals.  And in the process, these powerful
filmmakers NEVER waste time with people who waste their time.

If you want to make your movie, you need to stop waiting for permission and start doing. Here are some action steps:

1.      If you don’t know how to make movies, attend a workshop or take a course.
2.      Start making movies on your video camera.
3.      Edit the movies on your computer.
4.      Upload the short movies to YouTube,
5.      If you get an audience reaction, great! Repeat the process. If not, great! Learn from your experience and repeat the process.

Getting an audience on the smaller screen will be good experience when you’re ready to make movies on the big screen.
