Letter From Film Camp Student Adrienne Ho
April 23rd, 2009 Posted in Film & Acting Camp, Student & Alumni ActivityNew York Film Academy summer film camp student Adrienne Ho continues to grow as a filmmaker and excel in film festivals from New York to Montreal.
As a current film student at McGill University in Montreal, she has received great praise for her short film “Coming Back” she made while attending our film camp in Los Angeles during the summer of 2007.
“Coming Back” is a short film Told through a series of flashbacks, Laura, a teenaged girl, is brought to places from her past by her sister Stephanie. Each time, Laura is urged by Stephanie to try and remember the place’s significance. However, it is only at the last place, where Laura finally willingly accepts her past on her terms.
We are very proud of Adrienne and the success she has made for herself. We wish her the very best in her career in film! Below is a her film “Coming Back” and a letter she wrote us recently.
Dear Eric,
I was in your class in August 2007 for a three-week digital filmmaking program in LA (Universal Studios) at NYFA.
I know it is a long time ago, but my second film that I made got selected for the NewFilmmakers New York Spring Festival. Thank you so much for your help and advice at that time, especially for recommending the theme song. To refresh your memory, here is a link for it (I submitted it to a film fest at McGill University that posted selected entries online).
As well, my documentary, Pura Vida!, won in the non-fiction category at the McGill film festival.
Thank you for being such a great teacher!
Best Regards.
Sincerely yours,
Adrienne Ho
