Former Summer Film Camp Student Daniel Citron’s Recent Success
April 10th, 2009 Posted in Film & Acting Camp, Student & Alumni ActivityDaniel Citron, a student from the New York Film Academy summer 2008 Advanced Teen Film Camp, shared with us his success at a number of recent film festivals.
Hey everyone! Emailing to say that last week I went to the Vail Film Festival to see Out of the Water screen. The theater was completely packed and it got a great response. The other filmmakers of the shorts in my screening got caught in the snow storm and couldn’t make it, so at the Q&A, all the questions (except one) were about Out of the Water! There were many comments on how powerful the performances of the actors were and how well the story was told. Independent filmmaker Kevin Smith (Clerks, Dogma, Chasing Amy, etc.) was also there, and I managed to get him interested in the film and give him a copy, so he is going to email me when he gets a chance to watch it.
I had also submitted into the student section of the West Chester Film Festival, but the president of the festival just emailed me to tell me how much he liked the film and that he would like to put it in the adult section instead! I’d like to thank everyone for all of the work and commitment they put into this film, to make it as powerful as it is today.
I’ll keep everyone posted!
Hope all is well,
Daniel Citron
