Interested in Film School? Film School Student Reviews & Rankings are Helfpul.

If you are considering enrolling in film school, one of the best ways to determine which film schools to consider is to ask current students and alumni. Getting first had experiences from students who have taken the course and attended the film school you are interested in is extremely helpful in the decision making process.
If you do not personally know of a film school student then you will want to do some research online. The problem is actually finding this information online. Real student reviews and film school ratings are rare. There are very few websites where film schools are rated and students given the chance to review their school. The most accurate, complete and honest website I found was Film School Exposed. I also found that there are dozens of schools with Facebook pages that are very active with student comments.
Before you apply to any film school be sure to do two things 1) Get student feedback, comments, reviews…etc. for the program you are applying for. The key here is the program you are applying for. 2) Tour the school. Be sure to visit it during school hours and sit in on a class you would take. If you can do these two things, I promise you that deciding where to go to film school will be much easier. Good luck!

I would love to enroll at NYFA, but I just have a lot of questions that I would like to ask, and don’t know anyone who goes there. If someone could please email me, and wouldn’t mind talking with me, I’d really appreciate it.

I have been wanting to go to NYFA for quite some time. My question is this, I am quite a bit older and I am worried that I will not succeed as an ‘older’ student. What is the average age of students and has anyone attended NYFA in their 40’s, or 50’s? Thank you.

I am interested in the Acting for Film Course and the Broadcast Journalism course. I am British and therefore would have to be an overseas student.
What are the tutition fees for an overseas student?
What is the more in depth criteria for both of these courses?
With the Acting for Film Course is alot of experience necessary?
Do I have to apply through UCAS, more dirtectly or any other way?
Is there supplied accomodation or do we have to provide out own?
What qualifications will I come out with once I have completed the courses?
I am currently studying a media production course here in England, will that aid me at all when applying to NYFA? I also have A-LEVELS.
Are there any specifiac qualifications I need to do either of these courses?
Thank you for your time, I know there are alot of questions there!
Regards
Aimee

I would love to enroll for a filmmaking course at NYFA. I have a first degree in Geography and Planning and I’m already an Industry practitioner. I’m 35yrs old, hope I’m not too old because filmmaking is a lifelong passion for me and I’m looking for opportunities to improve and make world class movies. Please, someone should get to me because I’ll be waiting.
Thank you

Hi my name is Barry Lloyd, I am 24. Love NYC and LOVE movies even more. I am going to work in film regardless but I do not know if I should do some film school first at NYFA. The main thing I am scared of it the fact that I am a little older, at 24 and all. I have many gorgeous ideas but I do not have the equiptment or foundation to start any of them. Could someone please contact me so that I can talk to someone?
Thank You, Barry Lloyd
