Film School Graduate Josefina Mata Wins at LA Femme Film Festival

Josefina Mata graduated from the New York Film Academy One-Year Filmmaking program at our Film School in New York City. Her thesis film just won Honorable Mention the LA Femme Film Festival in Los Angeles this past October 2009.

NAME OF THE FILM: LEJOS DEL MAR (Far From The Sea)

SYNOPSIS OF FILM: “Lejos del mar” (“Far From The Sea”) explores how a mother’s love drives her to madness at the loss of her beloved daughter. Ciudad Juarez is shown as a real and abstract Mexican city through this women’s story.
