Do I Need to Audition For Acting School?

As an admissions counselor for the New York Film Academy I am most frequently asked “to be admitted into the acting program must I audition?”. As an NYFA Acting School applicant you do not have to audition, however, auditioning will be able to determine your skill level for either the audition or open enrollment track, see how great you take direction, determine the possibility of offering you scholarship money and auditioning also gives you the experience of an audition.

For our one and two-year acting programs, we do require you take a “camera test” which allows for an audition style critique of your level of acting experience and abilities. While most acting schools will require you to audition prior to being accepted, the New York Film Academy everyone deserves the chance to receive top quality education if they are dedicated to improving their craft.

I strongly suggest you audition.     I would realy love 2audition and show my abilities as an actor but now i’m far (South Africa) is it possible 4me 2audition even if i’m accepted already?

    Hi Mr.Alexander,
    Iam interested in evening Journalism with NBC for the period of a year, how do i go about it sir? And i may wish to start from the month of june 2009.please enlighten me on what to do to facilitate my admission.

    Hi i’m from M’sia, i’m interest in acting. I want to know can i join in this school even i’m not graduated in high school? Is there any program that may let me join? And can a M’sian find any acting job after i have finish those program? Because i’m afraid of can’t get a job after i have study for it.

    How much a month does it cost to go to this school?…like some other schools…does this school also have industry connections?
