Acting School Graduate Times of India - Arunoday Singh would like to be known as an actor struggling his way through the industry. But debutante Arunoday’s lineage does pop up once in a while. In an interview with Hyderabad Times, politician Arjun Singh’s grandson speaks on his love for cinema, his debut film, family and more. Excerpts:

With a rich political lineage, what made you decide on a career in acting?

When I was nine years old I saw the film, On the Waterfront. I was so amazed when I saw Marlon Brando’s performance that I immediately made up my mind about being an actor. I didn’t know cinema like this could exist. After that, I did theatre in school and college and enjoyed every bit of the experience. I firmly believe I have the gift to love this form of art.

Didn’t you want to explore other options?

A good film opens up the charming world of cinema for you. The same happened to me. I was so passionate about acting, that I couldn’t think of anything else and I pursued it all along. I did a few courses in the New York Film Academy, enrolled in the Acting School in NY and was part of a lot of plays. I stood in line to give auditions and most times I was rejected. But that did not dishearten me at all. It only made my resolve strong…full story.
