FILM SCHOOL - ROME, ITALY
We are pleased to be returning to Rome, Italy at the world famous Cinecittà Film Studios.
From Fellini’s La Dolce Vita to the HBO series ROME, Cinecittà and Rome itself have been the living, breathing center of the film industry in Italy.
Rome is one of the most extraordinary cities in the world, unsurpassed in its illustrious history and grandeur, which is written in the architecture throughout the city. Buildings and monuments from ancient Rome still stand amongst two thousand years of art and culture.
THE CITY OF CINEMA
Cinecittà, Italian for Cinema City, has made an enormous impact on the world of cinema and continues to add to its legacy. We are thrilled to hold our programs in these hallowed studios. Students will have the opportunity of shooting on Cinecittà film sets.As in our programs at Universal Studios in Los Angeles, students will have the unique opportunity of learning and practicing their craft in the heart of a world-class film studio.
Enrollment
The New York Film Academy has an open enrollment. Serious students from all backgrounds are welcome to apply. No previous experience is required. However, all New York Film Academy Workshops are extremely intensive. Students who enroll should be prepared to live and breathe filmmaking during these workshops. Given the nature of filmmaking and the necessity of working in crews, students must be willing to devote themselves not only to their own projects, but to their classmates’ projects as well. As space is limited, we recommend early application to guarantee a place in the workshop of your choice.Language
All courses are taught in English. However, interested students should take the opportunity to work on their conversational Italian during the program. This will enrich their understanding and enjoyment of Italy.Daily Schedule
Every workshop is full-time, with classes or shooting organized nearly every day of the week. The schedules are rigorous; however, students will have the opportunity to explore Rome.Instructors
In all our locales, our eclectic faculty is comprised of experienced instructors and professional filmmakers who have Master of Fine Arts degrees from the most prestigious film programs in the United States. These include New York University, Columbia University, the University of Southern California, and UCLA.Extra-Curricular Activities
With its own metro stop, Cinecitta is easily accessible to the great sights and neighborhoods of Rome, including the Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain to the Colleseum and the Pantheon.
Final Screening & Portfolio
At the conclusion of all filmmaking workshops, a screening of the students’ final films is held. This provides a unique opportunity for family, friends, and cast to see the work students have produced. Students retain the 16mm originals and a digital master tape of their work to include in their portfolios. Each student, upon successful completion of the program, receives a diploma.NOTE: Cancellation and Refunds
