FILM SCHOOL - ALICANTE, SPAIN

New York Film Academy is proud to announce the opening of its newest branch summer campus in Alicante. Joining forces with Ciudad de la Luz Studios and Study Centre, the Academy will offer its program in the heart of the Spanish Mediterranean Coast.

ALICANTE

Alicante is a modern city with a population of over half a million. Alicante’s wonderful Mediterranean climate and its stunning beaches make it one of Europe’s most popular summer destinations. Connected to Europe’s principal cities by air, is also very accessible by car from Madrid, Barcelona or Valencia.

Its most important festival, the Bonfires of Saint John, takes place during the summer solstice. This is followed a week later by seven nights of firework and pyrotechnic contests on its urban beach. Overall, the city boasts a year-round vibrant energy, helped by tourists, fun-loving residents, and a large student population of the University of Alicante. Every summer, a two-month-long programme of music, theatre and dance is staged in the Paseo del Puerto.

CIUDAD DE LA LUZ STUDIOS

Ciudad de la Luz is the most modern Film Studio in Europe. An industrial complex with highly advanced audiovisual production services at its disposal and with all the facilities and “state of the art” installations necessary for the various stages of any audiovisual production - Filming Outdoors, Filming On-Set, Filming Underwater, Kodak Laboratory, Rental Houses, Editing and Post-Production facilities-. Antonio Banderas’ “Summer Rain”, “Asterix and the Olympic Games” or Jean Jacques Arnaud’ “His majesty Minor” are only a few of the many films shot in their back lots and studios since it opened in 2005.

New York Film Academy students will learn filmmaking and acting in the brand new classrooms and facilities of the CIUDAD DE LA LUZ Study Centre. While attending the program, they will also have the opportunity to visit film productions on the lot and in the Ciudad de la Luz Studios.

ENROLLMENT

The New York Film Academy has an open enrollment. Serious students from all backgrounds are welcome to apply. No previous experience is required. However, all New York Film Academy Workshops are extremely intensive. Students who enroll should be prepared to live and breathe filmmaking during these workshops. Given the nature of filmmaking and the necessity of working in crews, students must be willing to devote themselves not only to their own projects, but to their classmates’ projects as well. As space is limited, we recommend early application to guarantee a place in the workshop of your choice.
